Physician Spotlight | Dr. Jorge J. Lopez Appointed to the Florida Board of Medicine

Lopez being recently appointed to the Florida Board of Medicine.The announcement was made March 5, 2014, by Florida Governor Rick Scott, and coincides with the reappointment of Brigitte R. Goersch to the Board of Medicine. Dr. Lopez succeeds Dr. Fred Bearison and is appointed for a term beginning March 5, 2014, and ending October 31, 2017.
Dr. Lopez is the President of Florida Emergency Physicians, based out of Maitland, Florida. He served in the United States Air Force from 1989 to 1997. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico and his Doctor of Medicine from Autonomous Metropolitan University in Mexico City.
Florida Emergency Physicians is a stable, independently-owned physician group providing care to over 450,000 patients annually at ten Florida Hospitals in the Central Florida and Zephyrhills areas. They are the largest ED system in the country and celebrate a partnership with Florida Hospital for over 40 years.
