Mary Free Bed Partners with Sparrow Hospital to Add Additional Beds

sparrow hospitalSparrow Hospital, in Lansing, Michigan, will soon be gaining additional space.

Sparrow has started work on a $7 million project that will add 40 private rooms and two gymnasiums for patients recovering from physical and neurological injuries.

This is a partnership with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

This is a great gain for Sparrow and physicians with Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) will also benefit from expansion in the hospital where they staff the emergency department.

Emergency Medical AssociatesEMA is a democratic, private emergency medicine group that sees over 120,000 patients annually among the combined emergency departments in the Sparrow Health System.  The system includes a Level I Trauma Center, a freestanding emergency department, and a critical-access hospital.

The Sparrow trauma center features a pediatric emergency department, scribes, and a clinical decision unit.  Sparrow is the first Michigan hospital system to be affiliated with the Mayo Clinic.

EMA is currently looking for additional emergency medicine physicians to join their practice.  Interested candidates can expect production incentives, an extensive benefits package, including paid time off, the ability to interact with residents, and the opportunity for profit sharing and partnership.

Lansing offers many benefits to its residents, including recreational skiing, camping, boating, golfing, and fishing. It is within driving distance to Lake Michigan and metro areas, including Chicago and Detroit.  The area also provides access to multiple highly ranked universities and a local medical school.
