Mercy Medical Center
Mercy Medical Center is a 445-bed Roman Catholic hospital in the city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mercy Medical Center is one of two hospitals in Cedar Rapids. More than 110 years ago, the Sisters of Mercy — guided by their vow "to care for the poor and for the sick" — established Mercy Hospital. Although the faces and technologies have changed throughout the years, the vision and mission still reflect their commitment to continuing the Sisters' work today and for years in the future.
A Level III Trauma facility, Mercy Medical Center's Emergency Department is fully equipped with State-Of-The-Art technology to handle the most serious of healthcare emergencies. All physicians in Mercy's Emergency Department are Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. Our nurses are also specially trained, many of whom are nationally certified in emergency nursing.
