Marian Regional Medical Center

Marian Regional Medical Center is a member of Dignity Health, a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization founded in the Catholic Healthcare tradition. Marian Regional Medical Center is a 191-bed regional referral center, and the only hospital in the Santa Maria valley, serving a population of approximately 150,000.

It has Level III Trauma Center, Stroke, and STEMI center designations. The catchment area includes an extensive agricultural worker critical access population. Ours is the highest volume Emergency Department in Santa Barbara County and the central coast area, with well over 75,000 ED patient visits per year.

The new inpatient building opened in 2012, including the all-new 32 bed Emergency Department, with 3 dedicated resuscitation rooms. An expansion project is currently underway to develop additional ED beds, including dedicated pediatric ED space.

We enjoy robust ancillary support from the hospital, including excellent nursing care. CT and XR are located in the department, with 24/7 availability of ultrasound and MRI. Adult hospitalists, Intensivists, and OB are in house around the clock. We have excellent consultant coverage including surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, pediatric hospitalist and NICU on call every day. A PICU is under development for early 2018.

The hospital hosts a family medicine residency with an OB/GYN program coming in 2018, which affords ample cross-disciplinary teaching opportunities.
