St. Joseph’s is a 364-bed, acute care regional Level II trauma center, recognized as one of the nation’s top heart hospitals.  The ED is a 39-bed unit with Fast Track and annual patient volume of 50,000.  The ED has adopted lean principles to focus continuous quality improvements with the department and organization.  The staff is comprised of BCEM physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, stable skilled nursing staff and supported by an award winning medical staff. St. Joseph Medical Center has recently announced they will be joining the University of Maryland Medical System.
