The Emergency Department of GSMC-Kilgore was completely renovated with state of the art equipment in the Spring of 2012. This 12 bed free standing ER features one cardiac room, two trauma rooms and two orthopedic rooms. There is a full service onsite chemistry lab and a digital radiology suite providing x-ray, CT scan and ultrasound evaluation. Kilgore, located 10 miles from Longview, serves as a satellite extension of GSMC-Longview campus. Kilgore and Longview share the same back up coverage. Acutely ill patients are stabilized in Kilgore then directly admitted to the floor in the same manner as a patient being seen at the Longview campus ER.

Physicians provide 24 hours of single coverage daily. Eight of these hours are scribe assisted. Annual patient volume is 18,500.
